Well, we did it. I competed in the contest for the world's ugliest gurn and lost. I lose big. They sang me a special song from the American singer Johnny Cash. At that moment I knew I wouldn't be taking home a trophy. The only trophy winners were them's without teeth and born local. Tommy Mattinson took 1st place for the 15th time. Happy Hornell took 3rd. I got coaching from both - on camera.

We made headlines in the papers: "Americans seek to take the Crown".  I was called the American Gurner". So we have a title for the film. The footage shot by Steve is mind blowing and the images by photographer  Aad van Vliet are stunning. The intrepid journey is far from being about winning. The characters we met, you will not believe. These are the funniest warmest people this side of a Christopher Guest movie.
